Dear Friends,

More than ever, I am convinced of the overwhelming importance of arts education. I am convinced of the importance of keeping music in the lives of our children.

We have experienced growth, and joy, and expansion this year at S’Cool Sounds. I am heartened by the incredible dedication of our teaching teams in NYC and in Kenya – extraordinary professional musicians who are passionate about sharing their gifts with children and their communities.

I am heartened by the strong leadership of our board of directors and the commitment of our community of supporters who recognize the importance of our mission. As we partner with NYC public schools and schools in Kenya navigating another year of multi-faceted challenges, this support is needed more than ever.

Most of all, I am heartened by the smiles on the faces of students performing a song for their families at a school assembly in Brooklyn, by the looks of concentration on the faces of children sharing a song with another classroom in the Bronx, by the infectious dancing accompanying a music team’s public performance in Nairobi, by the jumps for joy at winning a national music festival title.

These children’s accomplishments are only possible with the support of donors like yourself. It gives me great joy to celebrate them together.
